How can I check my hardware for compatibility with Win XP? It came with vista.?

I recently bought a laptop which came with Vista installed. I'm going crazy with vista; I hate it and I want to change my computer to Windows XP operating system. But first, I want to make sure I can find Win XP drivers for all the devices. Is there a web site where I can download a program to do this checking?

Try using the win xp install disk itself. When you first install it displays three options. One of them is to check compatiblity.

If it runs vista it will run xp after you format the hard drive and install xp.
Yes you can check the hardware installed on laptop with hardware list on Microsoft's web site. But if your laptop is built for 64bit version of Vista it may have trouble running Xp32 bit on the hardware. If it is the 32bit version of Vista it may work. And more over if you change the OS on laptop will it still be under warranty. This you should check before making OS changes.
You might want try to use software such as SiSoftware Sandra or Belarc Advisor to check your hardware and software specifications. Print them out before you reformat your system.

I always use these 2 tools to format my computers in the lab. Good luck.
