Should I go for Windows Vista or stay with XP?

I'm about to buy a new laptop and have a choice of operating systems. My first thought is to stay with Windows XP which I find very good and pretty reliable. I have heard Vista is slower and more memory hungry which is a downer especially with a laptop. Any opinions? Any Vista fans out there?

I use both - not much to chose between them!

The only negative thing about Vista is some older devices/drivers aren't compatible.

On the upside it includes loads of little utilities that you would have to get as add ons for XP (like DVD writing etc).

Vista is okay, I have Ultimate Edition and I'm quite happy with it. I have it set to Windows Classic, just how I had Windows XP, so it looks the same, it feels the same too. It still has it's quirks though, if you're happy to stick with XP then go for that. Or go for Vista.
Stay with xp,vista is trouble,I am waiting for a Sp to be launched before i will consider changing.
Vusta and XP are about the same up you will need at least 1.5 GB of RAM to run Vista smoothly, I have used both.
Stick with XP Windows are going to withdraw Vista in the next 6 months because the up take isn't good due to all the bugs.
